Bodega Marques de Murrieta
Pazo Barrantes (www.marquesdemurrieta.com) is without a doubt one of the flagship wines of D.O. Rias Baixas. In one of the beste vineyards of the Salnes Valley, 12 hectares of Albarino is planted. This Bodega is owned by Marques de Murrieta, the masters of winemaking in D.O. Rioja. It took ten years to take the project Pazo Barrantes to even a higher level. Yields have been reduced and an extensive selections of the best grapevines has been made. The maturing process and the fermentation process are both slowed down, resulting in more purity and aromatic intensity. The fresh wind from the sea affects the wine. This is how the Albarino develops it’s fresh, salty and yet intense aftertaste.
